What are the best plants/flowers to?

I’m looking for a couple good plants to hang on my deck and some good potting flowers i can plant in front of my deck with some mulch around them… very sunny areas, especially in the afternoon when it’s the strongest! I live on a lake and the sun beams on the front of my home all afternoon. I don’t know a whole lot about plants so please help.

Can molasses with rice made into fertilizer for flowers?

How do I care for mini roses?
