village girl asked: My boss has been out of town on family medical leave for 8 days because his mother had open heart surgery. I know that she has been having complications and would like to get him something when he returns in three days. Are flowers appropriate for this kind of thing? If so, what kind would you recommend? Thank you for any advice you can give me.

ofethrd1 asked: My hoya plant doesn’t make babies easy like a spider plant. I’ve tried cutting off a piece to grow roots in water, and I’ve tried cutting a piece and planting it into rich soil with fertilizer… but it dies. I’d appreciate your help because so many people like my Hoya and want a piece to plant on their own.

Erica M asked: I am trying to plant some flowers outside along our house and it is only mounds of bark mulch. Can I plant the flowers in bark much with only the soil that is surounding the roots? Will they survive this way? or do you need to put potting soil in there first?

elmosgirl82 asked: My back yard is sandy and I planted some roses but most of the time, the plant looks like it’s dying and the flowers don’t last long. I put bonemeal and fertilizers. If I get rid of the sand and get some good soil it will be too expensive to fill everything up. What type of plants grow in a sandy place? any advices?
